Our story originates with the Gramanis, or Toddy Tappers,  who for generations were skilled in toddy tapping. Our ancestors, ‘Chai-yoo-n’ and ‘Chai-yoo-ee,’ roamed from one coconut grove to another.

The Ancestral Roots

From Toddy Tapping to Arrack Production

Toddy tapping, which traditionally reduced coconut yield, led them to settle in South-East India. Here, they transitioned to producing ‘Arrack,’ a spirituous liquor from the East Indies. For ages, our forebears, known as ‘Paran’ and ‘Parai’ were renowned for their traditional arrack production and trade..
